John Vandewalle
Dr. Vandewalle brings great insights for recognizing opportunities, leading the development of new initiatives, and ways to develop successful corporate infrastructure. He is recognized as one of the nation’s top executives in the pharmaceutical industry. He began as a research scientist and physician in South Africa and rapidly moved upward, propelled by his ability to envision and manage growth initiatives. His background includes serving as vice president of International Business and, then vice president of Global Business Planning for Marion Merrell Dow. John was also the founder and CEO of Teva Marion Partners, a joint venture between Hoechst Marion Roussel and Teva Pharmaceuticals. He rapidly grew this company from start up to more than a $100 million in less than four years. In 1999 he became President for Clinical Services in North America in Quintiles, the largest clinical research organization in the world. Subsequently, he was promoted to President of Quintiles Americas. In this role he was responsible for more than 4,000 associates and sales in excess of $700 million.
John is a serial entrepreneur and owns several companies in various fields including technology and real estate. He sits on many Boards and advisory councils including The Deans Advisory Council at Rockhurst University. He is the current President of The Rotary Club of Overland Park South.
